Mr. C. H. Burridge may well claim to have spent his whole life in Petone, and the town is glad to claim him as one of many of her successful citizens who, by native genius and adherence to high business principles, has built a thriving business which serves the growing needs of the district. He was born in Canterbury—his grandparents being among the Canterbury pioneers—and came to Petone in 1887 with his parents when a year old.
He was educated in Petone and early in his career established a carrying business which he has successfully built up.
He has been in the forefront of all efforts to help his fellow citizens and his name has become a household word on the entertainment platform on which he freely gives his not inconsiderable talent in aid of worthy causes.
Mr. Burridge is a member and strong supporter of various sporting organisations and is well known in rowing circles all over the Dominion.
Mr. and Mrs. Burridge are lovers of the beautiful and their home and garden at 14 Tennyson Street, are among the beauty spots of Petone.
